Welcome to the Auxilary Home Page

The mission of the Auxiliary is to be the backbone of support to the Fire, Rescue and Water Rescue Squads. The Auxiliary was organized to be the arm of the organization that handles the rehabilitation for the squads when necessary, fund-raising and acts in any supporting role as requested. The commitment made by our members is not taken lightly as our volunteer squads depend on us for support whether it be for our annual fund-raising drive including bingo operations, providing necessary food and water at the scene of an incident, a welcoming meal back at the firehouse after a long night of action, or the assistance of organizing our many fund-raising and social events throughout the year. Membership is open to any resident who desires to assist and support the LMVFD&RS and who will make the commitment to participate in an activity, committee or office of the Auxiliary. There are many opportunities in the Auxiliary and each member can choose his or her level of commitment. The year begins in January with meetings on the last Saturday of the month at 9:30 in the John Maple Room. If a resident is unsure whether they can commit, we have an open policy for the resident to attend a meeting or two before making the final commitment that would bring them great fulfillment in their lives knowing they are helping such a vital organization. The board of the Auxiliary consists of the President, Vice President and Secretary. The President of the Auxiliary is elected by a vote of the membership of the Auxiliary. The President represents the Auxiliary on the LMVFD&RS Board of Directors. As such, the President of the Auxiliary represents one vote on the Board of Directors. The work of the Auxiliary is carried out by the Auxiliary Advisory Board.
