The Lake Monticello Water Rescue Team meets at 7:30 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month at the Lake Monticello Rescue Squad, Station 5, located at 14 Slice Road, Palmyra, Virginia. The Rescue Squad is located adjacent the Lake Monticello Fire Department (Company 5) and next to the Slice gate section at Lake Monticello off Rt. 600. Please stop by and introduce yourself. No RSVP needed. You don't need to be dive certified to join the team. We need people for swift water rescue, boat operations and ground support as well as divers. Please feel free to attend one of our meetings and meet the rest of the team, we always like to see new faces! LMWR is an all-volunteer organization. We understand and do our best to accommodate our members who have other full or part-time jobs. We have joint training sessions throughout the year with other rescue organizations, as well as our own team training. You can look at our training schedule here.
